Creating a Port Scan Monitor

Using this Premium Monitor you can scan YOUR network or IP addresses for open services. This is an important step to discovering and managing your cyber attack surface. The Port Scan Monitor will scan targets on a daily basis for the most common exposed TCP & UDP ports.

COMPLIANCE: Port Scan monitoring is only authorized for authorized scanning. If you are not the owner or subscriber of the network or the IP you intend to scan, scanning the target is unauthorized. Abuse reports filed to DigitalStakeout by a service provider will be immediately reviewed and may result in your account being suspended.

Navigate to the Setup page, click on the Discovery tab, click "Add Monitor"
  • Name your monitor.  The "Name" is a mandatory field. Your monitor must have at least three characters.  We recommend you underscore your block or IP target, example 1_2_3_4_24.

  • The "Expires On" bar may be left on "never expires" if you do not want to set specific date parameters for this monitor
  • "CIDR Blocks" is the field where you add the network or IP addresses to scan. You may add only add the maximum of a range of 256 addresses at a time.
  • Once all of this has been completed, select "Save" at the bottom center of the template.  The Monitor will be reviewed by our compliance team.

  • Once your Port Scan Monitor is approved, it will scan on a 24 schedule moving forward.

Each edit to this any Port Scan Monitor will require compliance approval.
