Incoming Result Timeframes

The time it takes for a result to reach the DigitalStakeout platform Console varies based on the data provider. Our collection time depends on how fast we can touch the source without causing disruption from the source based on our agreements or proper behavior to avoid getting blocked.

We have three types of data collection: Streamed, Polled and Crawled. The collection type can be seen at the create/edit monitor screen next to the label for each data source.
 
  • Streamed data sources appear approximately 15-30 seconds from posting.
  • Polled data sources appear in a range from 1-24 hours. It depends on the individual source's "rules" on how fast we can check for new matching criteria.
  • Crawled data sources appear in a range from 1-24 hours. Most crawled sources appear in 1-4 hours, but some sites require a wait of 24 hours. Crawling is a sub-type of polled data.

Examples:

  • A Twitter post usually takes about 30 seconds to show up.
  • A Wordpress post should show up in about 30 seconds.
  • Forum posts usually show up between 1 hour and 24 hours.
  • Surface and Dark Web results are examples of crawled data sources.

NOTE: If you have a set of forums that are a priority, please submit a feature request requesting we cover X sites within X time.
